| Imagine
getting married in a famous castle in the Scottish Highlands, the
ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. This is one of Scotland’s
finest and most idyllic settings, in the heart of Highland Perthshire.
Privacy, style and an unrivalled atmosphere of peace and tranquility
reign here.
Glorious ceremonies can take place in a glittering array of outstanding
facilities - from the more dignified and intimate Library for smaller
weddings to the magnificent Ballroom where up to 220 guests can
gather for ceremony, celebration, dining and dancing in a truly
highland Scottish ambience.
You can have a traditional or modern ceremony, or even choose a
period theme. The beautiful grounds offer ideal opportunities for
photographs.
Blair Castle, with its roots in the 13th century, is one of the
most northerly of Scotland's great houses and is certainly one of
the most majestic. It is the largest house in the Highlands and
is one of Britain's oldest continuously inhabited houses, dating
in part from 1269. At the gateway to the Grampian Mountains on the
route north to Inverness, the location was highly strategic. Today
you and your guests can enjoy the wild beauty of the surrounding
landscape but centuries ago it was a threatening and dangerous place.
One of the first private homes to open to the public in Scotland,
Blair welcomes more visitors than any other. The Castle staff hope
to welcome you too, and invite you to share its delights. The Castle
is available for most of the year and provides a wonderful alternative
not only to standard hotel venues, but to marquee weddings against
which you will be surprised how favourably we compare on cost.
