Blair Castle - an Incomparable Scottish Wedding Venue

Blair Castle is a unique Scottish wedding venue that offers an inspiring range of rooms, opulent backdrops, romantic interiors and contemporary spaces in which to celebrate your wedding.

Weddings in Scottish castles have a unique air of timeless romance that few other wedding venues can match. Each Bride and Groom brings their own personal touches to a Blair Castle wedding, and the rooms can be combined in a variety of different ways to create a special and individual experience.

Visiting the castle before your big day is a wonderful way to discover which combination works best for you. Please contact our Weddings and Functions Manager to arrange an appointment and a
tour of the rooms.

Blair Castle’s traditional Scottish interior is a real delight, from the drama of the magnificent entrance hall to the spectacular picture staircase and romantically decorated State Dining Room. Every beautiful detail combines to create the ultimate Scottish castle wedding venue.

The castle’s beautiful interiors provide a fabulous backdrop for your wedding photography, and the views from the windows are equally stunning whatever time of year you choose - be it spring, summer, autumn or winter. Weddings in Scottish castles are always memorable events, and Blair Castle weddings are no exception, no matter which season you choose.

The State Dining Room

Wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions can be held in the castle's state dining room for up to 150 guests, followed by the Wedding Breakfast in the Ballroom.

For smaller receptions where dancing is not required, the State Dining Room can be made available for between 24 and 50 guests. Here they will enjoy a very special and exclusive dinner in this Georgian-styled dining room.

The Ballroom

On the ground floor the Ballroom, built by the 7th Duke of Atholl, continues to host gatherings of up to 220 for ceremonies, dining and dancing in a truly Scottish ambience. The Ballroom has excellent acoustics, a stage, a fine dance floor and an atmospheric lighting system.

The wedding ceremony may also take place here, followed by drinks in the State Dining Room, the Banvie Hall or outside in the idyllic setting of our tranquil gardens. Guests will then return to the Ballroom for the Wedding Breakfast, speeches and dancing.

The Banvie Hall

Adjoining the Ballroom and accessible via a "secret" door, the Banvie Hall makes an excellent wedding venue for a ceremony or reception, but is more often used to provide an extension to a ballroom event with bar and sitting-out facilities. Its glass wall frontage provides a fine view of the magnificent grounds of the castle and of the surrounding hills.

If your wedding ceremony has taken place in the Library followed by a meal in the State Dining Room, the Banvie Hall is the ideal location to complete your evening, with a bar, dancing and entertainment.

Times

The Banvie Hall and State Dining Room are available from 5.30pm from 1st April to the end of October and sometimes earlier during the winter months. The Library and Ballroom are available from 10am throughout the year for ceremonies only. Dining in the Ballroom during the summer season cannot begin until after 5.30pm, though ceremonies may commence earlier.
